About the Event:
We have a total of 78 male and 20 female competitors registered for the competition. All are Police and all are members of the Council of Sport.
The event covers 7 Divisions:
- Open Men
- Open Women
- Long board
- Over 40's
- Over 50's
- Novice
- On Ya Guts
The programme runs over 3 days and requires 8 hours of surfing each day to get through all the heats semis and finals. Our principal sponsor is the Council of Sport, and we have also been assisted with sponsored prizes from a local surf shop and surfboard manufactures.
Social events are planned for each night concluding with an Irish theme for St Patricks day on the Wednesday which will involve the Prize Giving. All division winners and place getters will receive trophies and prizes. Very generous spot prizes are also up for grabs, including 3 new surfboards and assorted surfing equipment.
