Travel Information
From Auckland City, take the Northern Motorway (State Highway 1).
Proceed on SH1 through Warkworth until you reach the traffic light controlled intersection at Hill
Street, Great North Road (SH1), Sandspit Road and Elizabeth Street.
Turn right into Sandspit Road.
After 100 metres take left fork along Matakana Road in the direction of Leigh.
Continue on Matakana Road past Sharp Road (on the right), Matakana Valley Road (on the left) and past the village of Matakana in the direction of Leigh.
Continue on Leigh Road to the Takatu Road intersection. Turn right into Takatu Road, drive 100 metres to the roundabout then turn left into Omaha Flats Road.
Continue on Omaha Flats Road then turn right for Omaha at the intersection with Point Wells Road. Continue on Omaha Flats Road past Jones Road (on the right) and over the causeway into Broadlands Drive.

EVENTS
Course Description

Either
RUN/WALK: 2km
Run course on hard packed sand along beach in an out and back course.
Or
SWIM: 750m
Open-water sea swim, 1 lap triangular course
Then
CYCLE: 20km
2 lap flat, fast course set amongst exclusive beach houses.
Then
RUN/WALK: 5km
1 circuit lap on flat footpaths along the road and along the beachfront.
RULES
The competition will operate under Race Rules/Code of Conduct
• Current Triathlon NZ competition rules apply to all participants in these events. Copies can be obtained from
http://www.triathlon.org.nz or will be available at registration.
• Rules include approved helmets must be worn (ANSI, SNELL or NZSS); bare torsos not allowed in cycle or run legs; race number provided must be worn or shown; participants responsible for ensuring their cycles are in a safe ride-able condition.
• The course is not closed to traffic or other users. It is the participants’ responsibility to keep left on the cycle and ride single file unless passing – road rules apply at all times. Runners must keep to the edge of the roads/tracks or where possible on the verge.
• Entrants under 18 take part at parent’s/guardians discretion.
• It is the participants’ responsibility to make themselves aware of the race rules; the race courses; to attend the compulsory race briefing and to participate in a safe and responsible manner.

ACCOMMODATION
Omaha Beach situated in the Rodney District (Auckland Region) north of Auckland is the perfect accommodation base for the NZ Police Association Triathlon Championships.
Omaha beach - 4 kms of beautiful white sand – is surrounded by some of the best vineyards, and coastal experiences the region has to offer.
Accommodation ranges from the humble kiwi bach to luxury architecturally designed homes.
There are approximately 46 beach houses for rent with most sleeping 6 – 10 people and are very reasonably priced when shared between a group.
