Members Area

New Zealand Police

Description

The intention of the members area section is to provide an environment for Members of the Council to share information. This will hopefully be built up over time from the generosity of members, to provide a frame work for future events. This may include traffic management plans, event guidelines, tips and tricks for managing events, and words of wisdom from members who have forged ahead from previous events.

Sports Awards

Every year around March, nominations are called for the Councils three awards, Administrator, Sports Official and Sportsperson of the Year. A nomination form (here) and sporting CV is required itemising all events within the year of 1st December of the previous year to the 30 November the next. This needs to be forwarded to the National Secretary.

Administrator of the Year:

This is the category for any Coaches, Managers or those that have been committed to a sport in any background role. Whilst the other two categories are judged strictly on the achievements within that year, this category allows the selectors to consider previous history.

Official of the Year:

Police are dominant in many sports in a referee or umpire capacity; this is an opportunity to acknowledge and thank them in a career that is often the first to be criticised.

Police Association Sportsperson of the Year:

This prestigious award is awarded to the most outstanding nominee; previous winners have been All Blacks, Silver Ferns and represent many sports. The winner is presented this award in their home station giving them a chance to invite many that have supported them in their endeavours.
