Overview

The New Zealand Police Tennis Championships are open to all current and ex-Police staff, sworn and non-sworn. The events are Open men's and women's singles and doubles and Social men's and women's singles and doubles. Unfortunately in the past four years, the number of women's entries has been low and only one singles and doubles grade has been played. The men's competition has been strongly supported with entries from all over New Zealand.

Arrangements for the 2010 competition are already underway and two Police holiday homes have already been booked for the Wednesday and Thursday nights (24 & 25 March 2010). The tournament will be held at the Lynmore Tennis Club, Rotorua using astro turf courts.

As in past years, a Meet & Greet will be held on Wednesday night to allow players to socialise and 'suss out' the opposition. The venue for this will be advised closer to the tournament date.

Entry forms will be sent out automatically to all past entrants and anyone interested should e-mail Wendy Wrigley to have their name added to the mailing list.

Those wishing to be accommodated at the Holiday Homes need to contact Wendy Wrigley as the accommodation is available on a 'first in first served' basis.
