Next year the tennis will be replaced by the AP & ES games held in Rotorua and will recommence in 2023. There were only 2 female entrants and a mix of social and competitive players. The men’s draw was strong with long time social grade players Steve Coleman playing up in the open grade and a new young player from Counties Liam HUNIA who was a strong player and was the worthy winner of the Singles trophy for the first time.

A notable mention was retired member Peter Bradley (Gisborne) who was the captain of the Police tennis team in the combined services tournament who was participating at the ripe old age of 84 years.

Thanks to our sponsors Police Sport and Burger Fuel Fairy Springs who provided vouchers for participants.
